Collection: The Sea

It is either an estuary at low tide or a full storm that i love to paint - from jagged rocks and foaming seas, to reflected light. 

For some time, I have been painting seaweeds in their various forms in nature, whether at low tide or in their glory and movement in the depths of the sea. 

Presently I am enjoying the challenge of drawing and painting seaweed through the surface of water. It is like painting a few scenes in one piece – what lies beneath, the water surface & movement, and then the reflections of the sky above. I love the complexity and near abstract feel to this work, but which is still a representative painting.
