Inspired once again by stormy seas, this is a painting near Dooneen Pier, on the Sheepshead Peninsula here in West Cork. The sea was so rough, so cold looking after a recent storm. The cliffs in the distance were disappearing with sea spray or rain - i'm not sure which.
I have a long connection on Sheepshead, having worked on the Sheepshead Way Walking trail for a number of years. Its an amazing place for nature, peace and quiet and history.
Sheepshead always reminds me of an Island, you don't go - there unless you go there!! But when you do - it is so worth it!
