Summer Hill-walk at Priest's Leap, Bantry, West Cork

Summer Hill-walk at Priest's Leap, Bantry, West Cork

I live near here - the Priest's Leap. Up there in the hills towards the Kerry Border we walking during Covid days - never hardly meeting a soul.

Legend has it that a priest running away from the Redcoats escaped them by touching the host in his pocket, and his horse leapt across Bantry Bay and landed in Bantry. The story is close to my heart as i once had to learn a recitation from my dad for a competition - it was long and i got lost halfway through...

This is a magical upland area where the bog cotton thrive in the summer.
