Taking at low tide at Killeenaran in Galway, these hardworking men harvest seaweed by hand. The Connection for me was the recent threat of mechanical harvesting of seaweed in the beautiful Bantry Bay - home for me.
This Painting was made for the West Cork Creates Exhibition called 'Making Connections' in 2024. Its a bit of a departure from my landscapes, but in truth it was one of the most challenging and rewarding series of work i have done.
